Barrow Parish Council
A Neighbourhood Plan (NP) is a community led framework that helps to guide future development and growth. Once in place, Barrow’s NP will be used as a planning document by Cheshire West and Chester, and must be given weight.
Most plans contain a vision for their area, policies which we would like to see referred to when planning decisions are made, and proposals for improvements and new facilities.
The Neighbourhood Plan Steering Group was set up by Barrow Parish Council in 2021 to create a Neighbourhood Plan for Barrow. The purpose of such a Plan is to give our local community a voice and an opportunity to help shape development in our area.
During 2024, we have consulted with the public by means of a questionnaire. We also commissioned an independent Housing Needs Survey.
We have started to write a first draft of a plan, and are planning more consultation opportunities for our community through events at the village hall, or through additional questionnaires.
Your views remain of prime importance throughout this process, and you can e mail us at any time about anything to do with the neighbourhood plan.
We welcome new volunteers at any time to help us with this task.
