The Barrow Parish Council Footpath working group regularly walk the footpaths around the parish and any footpaths needing attention in their view are reported to Cheshire West and Chester Council for maintenance. The group meet every 6-8 weeks.
There is a guide book of 14 circular walks around Barrow. The book is available from the Bluebell Cafe, Guilden Sutton Post Office, Meadowlea Cafe in Guilden Sutton, and Tarvin Post Office.
The Parish of Barrow lies on a low sandstone ridge towards the western side of the Cheshire plain.
