6/ Riders – Carried over from the previous meeting regarding the ‘No Horses’ signage had been illegally removed. The situation continues to be monitored.
Review of notes from CWAC walkabout not covered in the above notes;
FP 6 – The bridge has been looked at and PA has concerns for the integrity of the timber, no point in attaching
gates at the moment, need to consider replacing all the timber, it has missing deck boards, and there is a
large amount of flex in the handrails. The footpath may need to be closed until it can be made safe. PA to
raise with his manager next week.
FP 20 – may need ripping out what is there and start again or try and install intermediate risers and re-stone –
PA will raise this as a H&S issue with his manager.
FP 23 – PA will place this wet area and a possible boardwalk to remedy on the surfacing wish list. The stile by
the conifer hedge is in poor condition but may not be required at all; landowner was approached.
FP 9 – BT raised concerns regarding steps at points 5 & 6 difficult to cross; washed away and field drain needs attention. No decision was made by PA.
FP 23 overgrown; PA/RA to raise works order
MM to request funding for kissing gates provision/costs from the parish council and Eleanor Johnson budgets at next parish council meeting. PA suggested 2 locations at FP 12 and FP 5/24 junction. Footpath committee to consider at the next meeting.
Adapt a footpath scheme – Following on from CWACs interest in rolling out a local community footpath scheme based on the Barrow model, RA provided copies of “Public Rights of Way (PROW) Volunteer Agreement and it was agreed that committee members would review and comment at the next meeting. MM to note at next parish council meeting in September and SW to add note in Barrow News.
Date of Next Meeting
The next meeting is on Monday 10th September 2018 at 7.30pm in the Village Hall. SW to book the hall.
