The Boundary Commission has published their final recommendations which will take effect from May 2019.
At the present time, Gowy Ward is made up of Barrow, Dunham Hill and Hapsford, Manley, Alvanley, Mouldsworth, and Ashton Hayes with Horton cum Peel
Gowy Ward will cease to exist from May 2019. The changes to the 6 parishes are as follows.
Barrow Parish will move into a ward named Gowy Rural, they will sit alongside Mickle Trafford, Guilden Sutton and Elton.
Dunham Hill and Hapsford, Manley, Alvanley, Mouldsworth, Ashton Hayes with Horton cum Peel, plus Kingsley will all sit in the new Ward of Sandstone
I am aware that the Parish Council in Barrow was unhappy with the possibility of this change. Myself, the Parish Council plus some residents did lobby for them to remain with the other small villages as at the present time, but I am afraid the Commission did not take on-board our comments
