Minutes of the Last Meeting on 16/07/18
The following amendments were noted:
1/ Guide Books The balance from the last record was £472.07 and 6 new books had been sold.
3/FP 24 (Ferma Lane to Little Barrow) Barrow 3 should read Barrow 5.
4/Riders New signs had not been erected at Greysfield since these are regularly removed.
With these changes, the minutes were accepted as correct.
1/ Guide Books – Since the record listed in the minutes of 7/01/19, 6 books have been sold:
|Date 21/05/2018 Balance from last record||£ 490.07|
|Income 6 new books sold
Proceeds from sales
|Stock locations: Bluebell Café, Guilden Sutton PO, Helsby PO, Tarvin PO, Foxcote, CY.|
|Latest total||£ 498.07|
2/ Path 2 (Ferma Lane to Guilden Sutton) – PA confirmed that he had viewed the cattle damage at the ends of the bridge and hoped to shore this up in the near future. Cattle damage at the kissing gate remains an issue but there are no funds at present to address this.
3/ FP 24 (Ferma Lane to Little Barrow) – PA/RA had not yet had an opportunity to check this work.
4/ Church Lane – MM and RT had not yet had an opportunity to erect the Permissive Footpath signs.
5/ FP 7 (Little Barrow to Bridge Trafford) – PA reported that the signage had been renewed in the correct style and that two kissing gates had been on order. The area had since been reconnoitred and it had been discovered that hedgerows had been grubbed up with the result that kissing gates were no longer required. The footpath had not been blocked, but navigation might be tricky.
6/ FP 9 (Broomhill to Long Green) – The ground had been too saturated to permit remedial work. This would be attended to in summer.
7/ FP 20 (Barrow Mill to Tarvin) – Funds had become available for rectification work, which would be undertaken as soon as possible. Pa believed this would involve a new staircase structure off the bank, with a handrail.
8/ FP 23 (Turkey Farm to Broomhill House Farm) – CY had obtained the agreement of Colin Worrall to remove non-standard signage. Pa would install a waymark post and provided GH with sticky signs for affixing to a farm building, with the owner’s permission.
9/ The Hunt – CY had received informal advice that a complaint to the Cheshire Wildlife Trust was unlikely to be fruitful.
10/ Contractor Cutting – It was unclear whether the RA complaint would have an effect, but GH reported that FP 5 (Ferma Lane to Sunny Bank) had been fully cut, possibly by the landowner.
11/ Sandstone – It had now been confirmed that the sandstone removed from the steps on Mill Lane had disappeared from the depot.
12/ FP12 (Broomhill to Hollowmoor Heath) – CY expressed the view that the Parish Council might agree to fund either one or two kissing gates, from book sale funds, if CWAC funds remained unavailable. The full cost of a kissing gate, including fitting, was £363, but PA suggested that he might be able to fit gates, if supplied. The cost of one gate might be the £230 figure previously quoted by MM. There was discussion as to who owned the boundaries of the three fields in question. Jean Whitby had granted permission, Margaret Mapes was thought to own the middle field and it was uncertain who now owned the third field. PA would ask Rhys Nebitt for this information. It was noted that there was very wet ground around one stile and PA would look into the provision of a sleeper bridge.
13/ FP13 (Swinford Mill to Nortons Lane). A lorry had destroyed the stile and gate. Claudia Carter had installed two new gates but no stile. PA reported that some materials stored for work on this FP had been removed from the CWAC site or used and that he had no replacements available at present.
Date of Next Meeting
The next meeting is on Monday 29th April 2019 at 7.30pm in the Village Hall.
